Hometown is Amsterdam, NY. Received B.A. in Fine Art and Education from Johnson State College, Vermont in 1971.
My artist’s statement is that I like to paint Plein Air: outside in open air. I love nature and the elements and lighting of the atmosphere. I try to capture the lighting of the day in an impressionistic way.
I have a BA Degree in Art and Education. I also studied SUNY Cortland, in Graduate Art and Education. I am a NY State Certified teacher in Art K-12. I taught art in Homer NY in the 70’s. I also have had positions in graphics at Longview Fibre a carton and display company. I retired from NY State Ag & Markets and finally could concentrate on my love of oil painting. I use non toxic materials when I can. I have received numerous awards from local art shows in Jefferson County and in Montgomery county. I enjoy both plein air and studio work and belong to two plein air groups here in Thousand Islands in the summer and Jacksonville. Fl in the winter. I am a consigner at River Muse Art Gallery in Clayton and I also sell from my front porch in summer in Three Mile Bay. I marvel at the beauty of the North Country from Sackets Harbor to Morristown and would paint everyday if I could, field, forest, river, lake flora and fauna we have it all here.
