Robert (Bob) Reed

Come meet Bob at the Gallery on Saturday, August 4th from 1 until 4 pm.

A native of upstate New York, Bob attended all 12 grades at Henderson School.  Bob’s interest in art began in grade school using charcoal pencil  and oil paint-by-numbers sets.  During the late 1980’s after watching the Bob Ross “Joy of Painting”  PBS show he decided to take a class at his local community college  in Acrylic Painting for Beginners.

Bob uses acrylic paint as his medium , primarily because it dries fast, mistakes are easily  corrected, and being water based, cleanup is easy. Growing up in rural northern NY with its’ farms, lakes, mountains, rivers, streams and all four  seasons has greatly influenced his art.

Bob teaches classes and looks forward to helping guide other aspiring  artists in their own experience painting.  As is true of most artists, Bob likes to convey a mood or feeling, or reconnect a memory with his paintings.  Painting challenges us, gives us great satisfaction and a sense of creative accomplishment.
