Cindy Eisenhauer
Wildlife and nature have always been my favorite topic. After taking
courses in painting and drawing, I decided to volunteer at our local zoo to
learn more as well as get closer to the animals. I became an Educational
volunteer, and after 20 years, I am still there. I also serve on the board of
directors at Zoo New York. I lived in Florida for six years and I was able to
take the Florida Master Naturalist course. I volunteered for Boyd Hill
Nature Preserve and was able to work with a Bald Eagle, Red-Tailed hawk,
Great Horned Owl, Screech Owls, Red Shouldered hawks, and Turkey
Vultures. A great experience for sure!
My painting surfaces aren't the usual recognizable kinds. I like to not only
paint on canvas but also on rocks, shells, turkey/goose feathers and wood.
I am now currently painting and carving gourds.
